Eight celebrities are on the Top 50 of the biggest paying individual taxpayers in the Philippines for 2012. Willie Revillame is the biggest tax-paying showbiz personality and number 2 in the entire country.
He leads a list which includes Kris Aquino, John Lloyd Cruz, Sharon Cuneta, Judy Ann Santos, Piolo Pascual, Bea Alonzo and Anne Curtis.
While this may not necessarily reflect that they are the wealthiest as others can pay taxes under their corporations, companies or other businesses, nevertheless, these entertainers provided considerable amounts to the national budget.
While Vivian Que Azcona, Mercury Drug’s matriarch has paid 131.4 million pesos in individual taxes to top the list, Willie Revillame ranked after her with his total taxes amounting to 63.9 million pesos or 63, 901,751.38 to be exact. Azcona replaces last year’s biggest tax payer, Kris Aquino, who is now ranked at 6th, paying an Aquino-led government with 44.9 million pesos. The Queen of All Media’s income may have dropped basing on the difference of what she paid last year which is 49.9 million. This is even after her 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival co-produced movie Sisterakas became the country’s number 1 top-grossing movie of all time.
